Distribution infrastructure (AJK)

A senior official of the planning committee in the government is going to start a project of Rs 165.13 million for the restoration of infrastructure for the distribution of power that were damaged by the floods in 2010, heavy rains and ground sliding, and Pakistan as observers. "The main objective of the project is to restore power to areas affected by floods in the state of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), which totally or partially damaged by the floods in July and August 2010." Sponsoring agency is the Ministry of Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit while the AJK Electricity Department is the executing agency. To overcome the damage in AJK, has developed a strategy for the construction and rehabilitation of the existing system on the basis of war damages provided through financial aid to China."The reconstruction of infrastructure for distribution in AJK reverse the devastating effects of flooding and the revival of economic activity in the regions and enable people to return to normal life, and the provision of electricity to areas that were turned into darkness because of damage to electrical and said work." This project will support the Government of AJK to achieve the target set to collect the revenue official sector.The industrial, agricultural and social Floods and heavy rains damaged the ground and sliding the line of 11KV, 0.4-volt lines, distribution transformers and other equipment in different areas of AJK. The project was designed to restore and rehabilitate the infrastructure of energy to the pre-flood level.Planning wing of the Commission's assessment and said that was not disposed of the equipment and replace the damaged material referred to. Has sponsored work on the income from the damaged equipment (transformers and columns). It was reported that wing may be provided tangible benefits after the completion of the project including the increase in revenue to the Planning Commission. He also pointed out that the sponsors did not mention the annual operating and maintenance costs and 2807000 Rs. "This project is rehabilitation rather than new projects. May justify the sponsors of the annual operating and maintenance costs, because the project is not new project, and part of the original project."
